ATTENTION PARENTS OF YOUTH 4th-12th GRADE! Club 45 and Jr. & Sr. EYC groups will be kicking off into high gear soon! Please make sure that you and your youth are listed in the youth directory of the youth department office to receive announcements and info for upcoming youth events. Please contact Rev. Youth Ministry at Christ Church
From camping trips, lock-ins and Ultimate Frisbee, to acting out Bible passages, local service projects and mission trips, relationships are key with what we are doing while growing closer to one another in Christ. Mission Statement:
Here at Christ Church Pensacola, our Youth Ministries has a mission to foster a fun, safe and positive atmosphere where all youth are welcome regardless of where they are on their faith's journey, and to guide one another towards becoming a loving, respectful and supportive community, a community based on the foundation of Jesus Christ. Through prayer, scripture, service and fellowship, using anything from games to challenging discussions, we seek to explore and understand how God interacts in our daily lives through the Holy Spirit. As we grow into adulthood, we seek to strengthen our relationships with our families, friends and neighbors, and most importantly, with God.
MEET OUR YOUTH MINISTERS
Tim Backus: Youth Minister
Tim Backus is the new Minister to Youth and Young Adults at Christ Church Parish. Tim has lived most of his life in North Carolina, graduating from Appalachian State University with a B.S. in Psychology and a B.M. in Music Therapy. Having recently graduated from Seminary at Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria Virginia, Tim comes to us with an eager attitude and excitement towards working with our youth.
Mia Jerrems: Assistant Youth Minister
Mia served as a High School Youth Leader at St. Anthony’s on the Desert Episcopal Church in Scottsdale Arizona for 3 years. Since 2006, she has served as the Assistant Youth Minister at Christ Episcopal Church for junior and senior high school. Mia enjoys working and serving weekly with the youth, and feels blessed to be part of special youth events such as Happening, Kanuga, Winterlight, camping, service projects, and especially Group Workcamps Summer Mission trips.
Mia has a degree in Recreation Resource Mgmt from NC State and an MBA from Rollins College. She & husband Warren, have two daughters, Jacqueline & Olivia.
