Christ Church is a parish (of the Episcopal Church and the worldwide Anglican Communion) that is at once traditional and progressive; historical yet dealing with all of the issues that face American Christians today. The parish sees as its mission "standing as a beacon of hope" in the center of the city.

Always striving to be faithful to the name it bears, remembering that it is Christ's church, the parish works at the alleviation of human suffering through a variety of outreach programs; at helping the "children of men become the children of God"through Christian education and youth ministries and the work of the Episcopal Day School; and at cultivating the "abundance of life" in its community through the world-class events of Music at Christ Church, including "ClassicFest," Pensacola's summer chamber music festival.

Central in the life of the parish is the Sunday celebration of the Eucharist. The people of Christ Church worship God "in the beauty of holiness" in a way that many Episcopalians find inspiring, uplifting, challenging, and comforting.

With more than 165 years of tumultuous history behind it, the parish today stands as the largest in its Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast and one of the largest in Florida. Activities for children, youth and adults take place throughout the year, making Christ Church a very busy place.
