Welcome Yule!
SWEET PROSPECT
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 30, 3:00 pm
A Welcome Yule! concert at Christ Church on the Sunday afternoon after Thanksgiving has become a tradition in Pensacola, and we look forward this year to presenting Pensacola's own Sweet Prospect. We've been looking for a place in this series for this very popular ensemble, and the "holiday slot" seemed like a natural (and check out the date for The Silverwood Quartet, the usual Yule occupant, in February). Made up of Melissa Allured playing recorders, Sheryl Bragwell playing hammered dulcimers, and Gary Diamond playing guitar, Sweet Prospect plays music from all corners of the British Isles, and from the rich stores of American traditional music. We look forward fo hearing them at Christ Church. A $10 donation is suggested. The Choir of Christ Church

A variety of flutes, whistles and recorders, Celtic Harp, mandolin, Irish bouzouki, guitar, Coral sitar, and an array of percussion instruments could be featured in one of Silverwood's unique arrangements. Add to that an eclectic mix of musical styles from around the world and across the centuries played with artistry and passion and you have an unforgettable concert experience that will move and delight one and all! Andra Bohnet (flute), Tom Morley (violin), Jonathan Clark (viola) and Barbara Gabriel (cello) make up the ensemble. In addition to their concert appearances, the ensemble has recorded five CDs (so far!) which have been featured on public radio stations throughout the U.S. and have been downloaded throughout the world.
